Meet Sändra

Sändra Washington has called Lincoln home for over 30 years. Washington is a dedicated public servant. After a career with the National Park Service, Sändra is focusing her attention on serving Lincoln, as the current Chair, of Lincoln City Council.

Sändra Washington served multiple terms on the Homestead Girl Scout Board of Directors, the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and as a Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commissioner before her appointment to the City Council in June 2019.

Sändra lives with her spouse, Deb Cirksena, and their daughter, Bella. They all enjoy visiting national parks, travel and sports.

Her Goals

I am committed to serving all of Lincoln.
I am committed to strengthening Lincoln by driving action that diminishes racial inequity and improves housing affordability, and access to healthcare.
I am committed to the quality of life resources that make Lincoln great – parks, trails, libraries, vibrant arts community.
I am committed to public health and safety for every resident of Lincoln.
I want everyone to have a place at the table, and a stake in the future of Lincoln.
